DARLINGTON – Funeral services were conducted Monday in Lafayette for Albert E. Hiatt, 62, a former Darlington resident who resided at 402 Club Lane, Lafayette. He died at 5:02 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3, in St. Elizabeth Hospital where he had been a patient for three weeks. Mr. Hiatt lived in the Darlington area until 1948. While living here he was a salesman for the Perry Lewis Ford Co. After moving to Lafayette he was employed by Fairfield Manufacturing Co. for 26 years before retiring in August due to health. He was born at Darlington, the son of Bert and Mollie Hiatt. He married Loveda A. Lewis at Franklin in 1948. Mr. Hiatt was a member of the First Christian Church at Lafayette, American Legion Post 11, 40 & 8 and Masonic Lodge 123, Survivors include the widow; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Joe (Carol) Luck of Lafayette; three brothers, Howard of Dallas, Tex., and Harry M. and Robert S., both of Lafayette, and an uncle, Harry L. Hiatt of Darlington. – jlr
